I think that my new Motoro has fish lice (angulus) Small brown circles. Has anybody had experience with treating? I read that anchors away is the best thing to use.????
All I can find is anchors away for pond fish, is this the same thing? Is there anything else I can do. WIll this infect my other fish? Is treatment safe for the ray and my other fish?

anchors away worked for me and yes the pond stuff is what i used my leo had argulus a when i first got her
i don't remember the doseing someone else may be able to help
david weber would know

I had them once on my first motoro that I had......, it eventually killed him. I was using tweezers to remove them because I was told at the time that there was no med that would work, but since I didnt treat the tank I ended up not completely getting rid of them....., it was back when I was first learning how to keep rays......, dont make the mistake that I made treat the water before it is to late and you lose a 12"+ ray......

treated a tank before(not mine) with paragaurd with a ray that had it after a few treatments problem was gone

So if I use anchors away, will it be harmfull to my other fish...
fire eel
lima
tsn

Where do you get it.

I also read about picking them off. I do not like this idea it could stress him.

HE is eating great and is swimming all over the tank.

I read that you can touch the lice and they will move. I cannot get them to move at all. BUt it sure looks like angulus.

Do you think poisoning with chemicals does it less? ;)

It depends on the quantity...if they are just a few take some tweezers and the problem is solved...

If you got plenty and especially already eggs layed...then you can think about the chemical cudgel....

I would examine the fish, take those few crabs off and put the fish into quarantine, so that the original tank can get rid of probable offspring according to their lifecycle and temperature...

:)

Pick them off....So hold him down and pick them with tweezers. I am guessing that there is about 10 on him. there is none on the ventral side.

I would treat the tank anyway the eel and cats are pretty hardy I wouldn't worry about them too much treat the ray and the other better safe than sorry look online do a google search

As long as it has dimilin it should be ok right? I found some stuff at a pond supply store here local. If I order anchors away it it could take 3 days.
