I'm having a problem in one of my systems at work with fish lice...grrr. I'm trying to figure out the best way to treat it. I've gotten the ones off I can visibly see but obviously with so many fish in the tank I've probably missed some. I can saltwater dip all the fish but it really sucks when I have to do that (stresses the fish out a lot..plus I'm sure it dosen't help much). There are mostly cichlids in the system...Africans and new worlds, and the fish I saw them on were some Managuense, a Green Terror, and some Oscars. Is Clout a good medicine to use? I see from googling "Trichlorfon" is recommended, as well as Diplin...but I don't have those on hand. I have access to Clout, API medicines, and Sera meds, as well as some other stuff. Has anyone here treated it first hand?

I just use dimilin or trichlorfon. Diflubenzuron is another name for dimilin. Any meds containing either of these in pure form should be fine. Treat for 3-4 weeks to ensure all stages of the parasites are destroyed.
