I have a 11 inch bocourti that has not eating in almost 2 months, I suspect that she is so shy that she will not seat when i am in my fishroom, anyway I have her in a 125 gallon tank and she is the largest cichlid in there, all of the other fish are between 3 to 8 inches and none of the other fish bother her, I do keep up the weekly water changes and the temp is at 78 degrees. I was reading some previous posts about obtaining garlic abstract however I check two grocery stores in town an none carry it, could ordinary garlic juice work, I am apprehensive about using any meds in the tank and I am not comfortable putting her in the quarintine tank(10 gallons). any advise will help thanks.

The garlic trick isnt a guarantee. 2 months is a long time for a fish not to eat. I would use black worms to get the fish to eat

Just a suggestion, but try and separate her from the rest. Put a divider in the tank, and be sure to provide her with a hiding place or two, then feed with lights off, and see if she takes any food. Try different dry food and also try frozen, maybe some live worms of some sort. Then if she takes whatever it is she is taking feed her that, unless its live, then try to ween her into dry food. Good luck though, two months is a long time, I'm sure she gets a pellet or two to get her by. Keep us posted.
