Never assume that your fish that have never touched a smaller fish won't. - They probably just couldn't catch them.

Never assume that a fish's mouth is too small to eat the smaller expensive fish you just got. - They probably will catch them.

Never assume that your new rare fish will be ok in the tank with your inexpensive fish. - They will get eaten.

Fat sleepers have deceptively sized mouths and surprisingly fat bellies after eating your new fish. That's all I'm saying.

if you can imagine you fish eating another, it probably will

No kidding. I was delusional in thinking that they were too big for them to eat and that since they hadn't eaten any other smaller fish that they wouldn't eat these. Obviously, the other smaller fish were faster than them. Yes, I know it was my fault. It's a lesson learned though, so I thought I'd share.

yup, Sadly I learned this lesson after adding a TSN to my tank w/ my 2 year old ID shark... within 10 seconds the ID decapitated and ate the body of the TSN after never going after a fish in the 2 years I had it, and he was housed w/ dwarf neon rainbows and other such small fish in the past...

this thread directly relates to my artc's mouth. even if the other fish doesnt fit in his mouth, he will simply break their spine and continue attacking until the fish is dead. Then refuses to eat it
