I added a red devil to my tank about a week ago and he isn't going after the floating pellets that my oscar's eat. He will pick up stuff that falls to the bottom. I was thinking maybe he was given sinking pellets. My question is will he end up eating the floating pellets or do I need to go get some sinking ones? It would be nice for the fish to eat the same food. Not sure if it matters but the rd might be mixed with a little midas.

I Recently switched to floating pellets and most my fish didn't have a clue what to do. It took them a week or so to really go after them. Try soaking the pellets in the juice that's made when you thaw bloodworms. Or give him more time. He will come around. He may just not be comfy yet

Sounds like a plan. Thanks

I would not worry since you said that he is eating off the bottom. I think given time he will start to go after the floating pellets. I could be wrong. But I know for sure he will not let himself starve.

Your LFS probably fed him sinking pellets. He will not starve himself. Do no give him sinking pellets. If he is hungry he will find a way to eat. If he is well fed he will not bother the floating pellets.
