Hi guys, so my Oscar didn’t eat the pellets that I gave, but the feeder fish I bought yesterday, also, it’s tankmates, silver dollars took a bite of the pellets and spits it out, I was wondering whether this is a sign of stress due to disturbance of the tank, I did a water change about 50% , and recently I had gave away my cichlid (not sure about the species) to my local fish store. Are they stress or is there like a disease or something? They are doing fine tho, should I continue feeding them pellets, or wait for a few days?

I would not feed for a few days and just monitor the fishes and see how they behave. If their sick they wouldn't beg or go after the food. Sounds like your fishes are spoiled and being picking imo.

Some cichlids, especially Oscars, are smart enough to figure out that we'll give them nice food if they refuse pellets for a bit. Just keep an eye on their health and try a few pellets now and again

Definitely agree, Oscars are sometimes too smart for their own good like in OP's situation. My O's used to pretend like they were dieing all the time till I would walk over to the tank to check on em, almost instantly they would peel off of the bottom and wiggle infront of me begging for food/attention like nothing ever happened.
