I recently bought a 85G tank and added my 7 Silver Dollars into it. I used dechlorinated tap water and mostly other aquarium water to fill it so I thought it would be ok. My fish have been in their a couple days and don't seem to be interested in the food I offer them. Now I have 2 T5 bulbs on that tank that are very bright, I know these fish like dim lighting so I don't even use them. Why arn't my fish eating? All the do is swim along the back wall all day long. Should I have more plants? I have a few fake large Swords and a rock in their. I give them Spirulina sticks and Zuccini. They won't take it.

Before the move, they where in the 35 and would eat flakes. Their to big for flakes now and are affraid to go near the surface.

Please help.

Well, I had some of these when I was a kid. They like vegetation most. If you're willing to spend some money, get them lots of live plants to munch on, but you should be giving them vegetables with their flakes. Also, they can be kind of shy at first and need lots of places to hide. If they won't eat with you around, try turning on the tank light, turn off the lights in the room so that they can't see outside, and hide behind something. They should start to eat within a few minutes. Did you check your NO2, ph, etc? It's a new tank, right? Hope that helps.
