Has anyone tried using a fish oil capsule as bait before? You know, the type you take to maintain your heart, brain and joint health?

I have a container of them here that are now out of date and I am thinking of putting them on a hook and seeing if it does anything?

If nobody has tried it, then I will be giving it a try this afternoon and I will be able to tell you all if it is effective.

While I am on the fishing subject, any good berly recipes?

well they are liquid so they would pop when you put them on a hook. also after a minute or two they would dissolve.

I might do an experiment, I have one sitting in water at the moment to see how long it lasts, I will then pierce one and see how long it lasts. if they last a fair amoun of time, I will try them out fishing, one thing is for sure though, I will add it to my berly.

what is a berly? An australian thing?

Yeh, just a mixture of old bait, bread and other things all blended up and dunked in the water to draw the fish in.

My spelling for it could be wrong.

Well, I manage to get a bit of interest in the capsules, nothing worthwhile though. Maybe there just wasn't aything beg and keen enough to take it whole, I will try it a second time in a few days before I rule it out though.
