Should be fine. Had a female GT a week or so ago jump out of the tank and land on the floor (have a dog and 3 cats, so there's gonna be hair on the floor), plopped her back in the tank and took her a few hours to go back to her normal colors but she's just fine.

thanks that makes me feel so much better i hope it is ok hes just got a bunch of scraches on him and is missin scales

Hello; Many fish on the floor over the years. The ones that you put back in right away do fine most of the time.

You got it back in the water right away so it should not be an issue. A little bit of time and he should be just fine.

thank u everyone for the help im very sressed bout this but your info makes me ease

agree with everyone above

I had my 30" breeding female koi jumped from my arms, and landed on concrete from about 4 ft up in the air. That was a year ago. She's still kicking and producing eggs like mad.

Your fish should be a-ok.

If the fish recovers from the stress and hasn't injured an organ or anything (usually they don't but it can happen) your main problem will be risking a bacterial infection. Just keep the water clean and you can add some salt, usually it's not a big deal if a fish jumps and you get it back in the tank quickly. I had an argentea jump the other day from a tiny hole when another fish spooked him, luckily I was feeding another tank nearby and got him back in. He's fine.
