I made the mistake of feeding a big NTT of mine leftover Shiners from icefishing. Now im afraid the dat has parasites or sumthing.

Then doing a waterchange i almost put every fish in the tank in shock because my water got below 70 degrees. Im an idiot. So when the fish were doing somersaults in the water i panicked and put all the fish in my 90G temporarily until i warmed up the tank to 80 degrees.

Now some of my Geo's in the 90G have the white pimples on their heads. The white pimple goes from being a tiny speck, to a bigger white dot, then it breaks the surface and looks like a whitehead, then it disappears in a day or so, but leaves a crater scar. Then before i know it, theres another pimple growing a millimeter away. Its like tunneling under the skin.

I can get pics if no one knows what this is, but i need to know what meds to get fast.

Ive warmed the tanks to 86 and 88 degrees, added salt, melafix to no avail.

PLEASE HELP ME!

Thanks

-Josh

pretty sure its not ick, the pimples are always on the head, no where else... anyone think they can figure out what my fish caught?>

I don't know ,Sorry.
I will ask around.

I just lost a Big 6+ yr old Convict to a strange infection that started with his lips swelling, then it spread back over his head.It took less than 72 hours to kill him.Never did figure out what got him.
None of the other fish or 14 tanks show signs of the infection .

I would get a uv light to kill all possible critters in the water and treat with antibiotics....But I am No Expert :grinno:

In my case the fish was not worth the cost of treatment
the treatment doesn't usually work anyways.:(
few fish are saved by meds alone, their own immune system plays the biggest part...IMO
Fish can be tough on the other hand.......

Good Luck...If I find anything I post back.
