I made a vacuum cleaner that sucks poop out of the tank into an inverted coke bottle with filter floss. The water goes back into the tank. I do this once a day or sometimes every other day, now the question does the water benefits from this as the poop is out the system but gets wet again the next day when i vacuum the tank. I was thinking of cleaning this container once a month or if ever twice a week.

People who let poop suck up into their filters have to change and clean their pads much more frequently than if you vac the poop out daily or every other day. Decaying poop is mosty whats going to foul up your water, so if you reduce that its almost as if your reducing the stocking. Ive never seen my nitrates over 15ppm.
This is another reason why I prefer sand over gravel.

Yeah but the poops in another container that gets wet with tank water when I vac the next day is this the same as letting the poop into your main filter ?

No, I think it would be better as the fecal matter isn't constantly in contact with the aquarium water. Sure, it's decomposing in your makeshift filter but flushing it with tank water once a day probably isn't going to "catch it up" to the rate at which it would be decomposing if it was stuck in your filter's mechanical media being flushed with oxygenated water 24/7.

I would think that this has more of an aesthetic advantage than water conditions if you do a 50% weekly water change. It can't possibly take but a couple of hours for toxins from the poop to leech into the water after, if you take the tea bag out of tea you still have tea.

Don`t be lazy, clean the floss.

Wrong.
Removing any organics from the tank is a help in controlling nitrate.
Less gunk to breakdown equals better water quality.

Thanks for the replies, I still do my 20-30 percent water change at least once a week and at the most is twice a week when I feel like it. The reason i asked is that I could add another powerhead to let the poop float in the water column and into the main filter is this has the same effect.

^^What he said
Wetting the organic matter will just just start the leeching process again (granted it's slower since it had time to dry out) but none the less, rinse it everytime you use it mate; its a good idea, I like it! Been meaning to rig up the SAME thing myself. I mean walking to the sink with a wet filter beats walking with a bucket of water :D
