Has anyone ever considered putting a flounder inside of their tank? This questions out of curiosity if some people already are I'd like to hear about it and possibly consider doing it some day.

Flounders are pounce predators and may do some serious damage to tankmates and inverts. There are some tropical sole species that stay fairly small that you can try with tankmates too large for them to threaten.

The west coast has the starry flounder that can do well in brackish conditions and doesn't grow to the size of an atlantic flounder.

I see, interested in catching a flounder and placing in your tank? If your thinking of the possibility of any native fish try minnows...I've done this a few times.

I know liveaquaria sells them but I'm afraid they will be like those sole that just stick to your glass. If you've bought one from there and it wasnt a sole or sub species let me know. For me I want the whole deal the teeth and aggressiveness. I'd probably only house itself with plenty of minnows

I question what you exactly think it should be doing...any type of flounder or sole will hide on the bottom or side of the tank...they are not an active species.

I'm a little confused on what you mean by this? I realize that flounder hide in the sand. I just thought it'd be a cool idea to have a summer flounder in a tank. It's a species that I fish for on a weekly basis during the summer in New Jersey and I thought itd be cool to keep. I've seen those sole before and I'm not a fan of the whole mouth on the bottom of the body. I just want an aggressive fish like a true flounder.

It just sounded from your post that you expected it to be an active killing machine. PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN...

You could in theory take any fish from the wild caught with legal size and legal season and bring it home instead of eating it....as long as you don't release it back into the wild. I have done this with minnows and a fish similair to a porgy in location wise.
