Fish-Related Day Trips in and Around San Diego

So I've been here since Sunday. I've already set up my bro's 55 and I'm now looking for things to do during the day.

I know about Birch (Scripps) Aquarium and I'm probably going to try fishing at the Imperial Beach pier. Other than that I need some ideas ... anyone?
