Figured I would post this here since this is an on going project that me and my buddy are currently working on. Just moved into this house 4 days ago. Haven't even finished unpacking and already starting on the fish/reptile room. :)

5 - 20 gallon tanks.

Now onto more pictures of the 5 breeder tanks. I plan to face the entire stand with plywood to hide the concrete block and to give it a more finished look. Under the tanks will be where my sump will go. Tomorrow I plan to pickup pvc pipe, bulkheads, foam (for under the tanks), and sump materials.

Lighting for the tank will be a bit different. I took the fixture out of one of those tracing tables. Very very bright. Had a 6 bulb setup in it. Cutting the fixture apart to seperate all the bulbs. For this setup 1 bulb per tank will be plenty. Once done they will fit perfectly between the 2x4 of the shelf above each tank.

Lighting fixture we are cutting up.

Here is a video walk through of the room as it currently is. Mind you we just moved in 4 days ago. The bins with the slide out rubbermaid drawers are the snake rack. Each bin has a snake in it.

awsome what kind of snake are you keeping?

Snakes are my roommates hobby. I don't mess with them much. I just stick to scorpions, spiders, and fish. But he keeps a few ball pythons, Burmese python, a cobra, and a few others. Not really sure off the top of my head. I know his count is up to 52 snakes right now. I'll ask him tomorrow when he is awake.

Looks good. What brand of racks is he using? How's he like 'em?

The white racks his g/f's dad made for him. The black ones he bought from someone he knows at one of the reptile shows. He used to keep snakes in tanks until he got these. Now is discarding all his tanks and using these.

update on fish tank setup..

Did some more tinkering with the lighting. Looking good so far. I will post pictures up later on another day. Been a busy day.

Need suggestions on filtration. Was originally going to do a 6 tank setup but only 2 tanks would fit on lower shelf. So now doing 5 instead. In the pictures you see I have the entire underpart of the stand to use. Debating on if I should run 2 sumps instead of 1. Reason I see behind that is in case of some sort of outbreak in the tanks. Thinking of running the top 3 tanks to 1 sump and the bottom 2 tanks to a separate sump. 2 completely separate systems. These will be made as cheaply as possible. (low funds right now) So with that being said I will more then likely make them from sterlite containers. Similar to the video I am posting below this. Going to be putting my heaters in the sumps. My question is though. Will this be enough filtration or should I look into doing something else?

Picked up everything I needed today to start piping the tanks. Well everything except the pumps. Thats what I am not sure about now. What pumps should I go with. 1 pump will run 3 tanks at about 5ft. The other will run 2 tanks at about 3 ft. What do you all suggest?

side note. Dropped down to 1" overflow pipe scaled down to 3/4 going into sump.
