NEW YORK
I just found out from my dad that I can make a small fish room in our house. I just measured the room and it's around 8-10 feet long(very weirdly shaped room) 5 feet wide and 8 feet tall. This may seem small for a fish room but I can fit a lot of tanks in that space. We will be moving everything out of the space in early january and moving my tanks in. I only have two tanks a 5.5gal and a 55gal. I want this to be a breeding room and turn it into a business. I am going to buy some more tanks and I want this room to start out with 1-55gal with some breeding cichlids,1-20 with my livebearers,1-10 gal with shrimp/crayfish,3-5.5gal with my betta's and grow out tanks for fry. I want to make a system to heat the tanks and filter them, what way will be the best and use the least amount of electricity? Also what exact species do you suggest I start with...I don't want to spend more than around $300-$400 on fish and the rest of the tanks...I only have around $200 right now.. I'm trying to get rid of my stock from my previous business to fund this new endeavor....I will keep you guys updated on my progress.

Matt

If I can make a suggestion. I use bakers/shop racks from places like Home Depot as stands for my aquariums since I too am limited on floor space.

Yep. Those are the racks I use. I've tried others but the wire racks have so many advantages for me.

do what you love, you most likely won't be making money for it. If you breed easy to breed, well there is already plenty of them. If you breed the difficult to breed fish, you will need to love it to keep doing it. So do fish that you find interesting.

Picking up a 10gal tonight. I think I'm going to do Peacock cichlids in my 55gal as I like them a lot and they seem easy enough to sell.
