Fish Scale Question

Hello, thankfully all of my fish are doing just fine *knock on wood*. What I was wondering is what is the deal with gold fish having slightly duller looking spots on their bodies. First I thought that they might be missing scales but since they have been that way for a while now I figure that shouldn’t be the case. Maybe some scales are just not as shinny as others? If anyone has an idea I would appreciate the feedback. Thanks
