My two paroon sharks/pangassius catfish are on strike!! the past three days they arent eating anything..... I have tried all their favourites.. including earth worms and bloodworms and no use.... has anyone ever had a similar situation with these types of fish... also my red tail has gone through a change instead of hanging out in his cave home he is up swimming with the pangasius I think he thinks he is one!! would this through them off their food?? The RTC is dosile doesnt touch off anyone... I dunno they are usually so excited for food its worrying me :(.... any suggestions geatly appreciated....

oh i have already done a water change and checked the filters they are ok.... nitrates and ph fine aswell....... stumped :(

May be an internal parasite. Is their poop white?

hmm im in work at the mo so I will check when I get home... none of the other fish are sick and they dont look ill just gone off their food :( if it is something like that how can I treat it.. I have all the mainstream treatment melafix primafix etc etc....

Use something with praziquantel in it, like Prazi Pro or Jungle Parasite.

Any more information you can provided would only help. Tanksize? Maintenance Schedule? Parameters? and post the readings. What are they fed? Sizes? Feeding schedule?

well our weather has changed dramatically here over the past few days... I know it sounds weird for ireland but all we had was rain the past few weeks and now its been quite hot... I have checked temp is tank and its ok... have the fan on in the room though to keep it cool... we do weekly changes of water cause our tank is very tall... we made it ourselves... we do a big clean every two weeks.. I cant check the parameters right now cause im in work :( but I only checked it two days ago after last water change and was fine... filter was also checked out nand it was fine..I feed them normally granular foods, catfish pellets and then bloodworms and earthworms on occasion...they have no interest in prawns or anything like that... they are about 8/9 inches in lenght... other than weather and the rtc thinking that he is one of them thats all that has changed... again the dont look ill they just dont seem to be eating....

Weather can change fish behaviour in many ways, mostly in the form of baromic pressure, humidity as well as the sun, wind and rain.

I may be wrong, but if everything else checks out OK, then it may be something simple like the weather, and since you mentioned the weather has changed dramatically, after a few days when the weather becomes settled they may start eating again.

Like I said, my bass acts the same from time to time. I used to worry, but he always bounces back.

ok cool sure i will see how it goes over the next few days.. this fish are literally my children I would die if anything happened!! lol a little dramatic I know but u dont know how much these fish mean!! lol Im gonna check the water again once I get out of this hell hole I call work grr :( its depressing. anyone work in a call centre here?? u know my pain. Irelands weather has been all over the place the past few weeks especially in south......
