This story is a long way in getting to my questions so i hope you bear with me! :chillpill:

My love for aquariums started when i was a little kid and my dad would take me with him to work. He used to work for a LFS in ohio called "captain's pets". i used to run up and down the aisles of tanks saying, "I found a dead one!" or "I think this one is sick!" much to the owners chagrin. Over the years my dad had gone from owning a 125 with snakehead, oscar and arowana community to strictly arowanas. We moved to a new house and lost his 125 in the process (glass broke while moving) and he went without fish for a few years. but i still wanted them. I begged and begged and was finally allowed to have a 10 gallon which i then put in a few cichlids. (:( this was before i knew how aggressive they were) I lost the cichlids after a while and as time went by i did what every kid does and threw in everything i could find in there, salamanders, turtles, minnows, crayfish...list goes on. As i got older my interest in fish worked over my dad and he bought anoher 125 gallon and we got some angel fish. we ended up with 4 pairs and they bred like crazy. we dicided to try our hand on breeding and got a few more and before you know it we had pairs of black, marble and white angels in 4 - 30 gallon breeding tanks with 29 smaller tanks to raise the fry in. we then sold them to area pet stores a dime a piece and roughly broke even. after a while he sold all of his tanks and we were again without fish. then i decided to buy a 125 of my own and i had a nice african cichlid community going. then i joined the army. needless to say im on my 2nd deployment in 3 years and i had to sell off my fish and put my tank in storage.

Now for the questions... :D

I really enjoyed breeding fish with my dad and when i get to come back home and move into my own house i would like to get into it again but am having a hard time picking the fish that i would like to breed. I have some experience with the angels, i had a breeding pair of texas cichlids but seperated them because the aggression was too much for the rest of my community. What kind of fish would you recommend i raise?

If i were to get into breeding what would i have to do to make a profit off of my hobby?

Would you recommend selling to LFS or on the internet?

It is going to be a few years before i am able to get around to this ... but as proof of my dedication i stare at this computer screen daily after my duty day is over and dream of big aquariums.

Any input or advice is greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
