How about a big fish show where people can go and buy different products and fish, just like a reptile show?

Do they exist? I'm not talking about fish clubs where only 2 or 3 people have something to offer.

Yup they do exist

Yea that would be nice, but I don't think there are that many. It would be a lot harder to have all the tanks and water needed for that unlike reptile which just need heat, food.

Care to elaborate? I'd love to go to some.

There are national shows the
American Cichlid Association (A.C.A)
American livebearers Association (A.L.A)
are two national shows you should have local shows check with your LFS for shows in your area.Or get a copt of THF they often list regional shows in the back of the magizine.
In my area the Greater Chicago cichlid Association should be having its big show in the next month or so-Anne

I went to a fish show once when I was a kid, not like a reptile show with vendors though (there were guys selling fish & stuff though). It was more like a dog show where they judged fish & gave prizes. The one fish I remember was a HUGE scat (S. argus), it was well over 12" and fat. Great looking fish, and stood out because I'd only seen them half his size before.

I'm heading off to a fish show/auction in about half an hour. Goes from 10am-430/5pm. The fish club I joined in Jan throws it every year with local stores sponsoring and donating items. Got my fingers crossed to find a Queen Arabesque and Golden Nugget.

Greater Chicago Cichlid Association swap meet this Sunday!

But this is the good one
