I have aOscar, who sleeps on her side. It doesn't mater if she is floating at the top, or laying on the bottom. I have thought she was dead many times. Is this normal?

my oscar lays on his side alot but i have never seen him just float on his side at the top of his tank. but if she acts normal the rest of the time and she has been doing this for a while it should be find. is she eating normal?
perfectly normal for oscars. i had two that would lay on top of each other on their sides and sleep
Hello i just got a tiger oscar ... when i bought him he was the most active in the tank when i would go check him out at the store. and now he is home if there is no feeder fish in the tank he just lays around. I am trying to find what is best to have in the tank to keep him happy but i am getting so many diffrent things on what to put in the tank. (talking decore not fish) some say only sand and rocks some say lots and lots of plants. also i have had mixed feeling's on how warm the water should be the fish store i got it from said 82f-84f from what i am reading people say 76-78. if you all could help that would be great. i need my Grr happy

76-78 would be better. Try a clay flower pot, for a cave. If you have sand, he will move it to how he likes it. Try starting your own thread, it will get read more.
none of my fish sleep on the side...the kinda just nestle into gravel using there guts and lay straight....i know CL sleep in wierd possies...never seen an oscar do that tho..keep us posted!
