A few days ago my Carpintis developed a bacterial infection on its fins so i seperated the fish and started treating with Maracyn as Lupin suggested. Just recently the fish has started spinning in circles, upside down and right side up and is just all over the place and cant swim right.

I couldnt not find anything concrete on this symptom, other than the fish always ends up dead. is there any known cure to this? or should i just put the fish down? i really hate to lose this fish but if theres no cure, theres no point in letting it suffer.

heres the original thread: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208463

Now that's strange. Always end up dead? Are you saying the fish always looks like it is near death? In this case, the chances of recovery is very slim. Euthanasia is up to you. If you feel the fish may not recover at all, euthanasia is the only option to end its sufferings.

well the reason i said end up dead is because i did some searching here on other sites and people always said their fish died once they started "whirling". i could not find one known cure.

and sure enough, when i got home from work, the fish was dead. so another confirmed death related to the tropical fish whirling disease

It seems to be a symptom of dying.Ive never seen or heard of a fish recovering after whirling like that but you never know.
