I am planning on upgrading to a 1,000 gallon freshwater setup (My largest currently is a 500). After all is said and done, I was wondering whether this stocking would thrive in the tank :
- 1 Asian Silver Arowana
- 1 Golden Clown Knife
- 2 Oscars
- 2 Jaguar Cichlids
- 1 Royal Pleco
Would the tankmates get along fairly well? And is the tank overcrowded, or could I add another fish if needed?

A normal silver arowana… you know, the most common variety of arowana. They can grow to 24-36 inches.

Would you recommend any alternative for the cichlids? I fear they might harass the clown knife or the oscars.

For bottom dwellers you could do stingrays ?

If you are worried about this I would skip the managuense jaguar cichlids, they can be very aggressive, the oscars will be fine. Some other large and less aggressive cichlids would be Severums which should work well with the others

Agree with this. The managuense (being from Central America) come from totally different water parameters than most of the rest, and on a much more heightened aggression level, would best be replaced by less aggressive South American species, like Heros, Uaru, or Amazonian pike cichlids.
