So for the last few days most of my fish (not all) have stopped eating the Cichlid Gold they've always loved. They'll eat some other brands of food I have and bloodworms, but for some reason they've started spitting the Gold. You think it's time to switch to something else for a little while. Or maybe not feed the tank for a day or two?

My common plecos love it still though. It's so damn funny watching them eat it. They'll swim up to the top to grab a pellet then just float around the tank, usually completely verticle or sometimes upsidedown while the naw on it

FYI I feed them twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening, it's usually all gone within minutes, but here it is 30 minutes later and I still see some floating. I give them Hakari frozen Bloodworms 2-3 times a week as a treat.

I would stop feeding for a couple of days I never feed on weekends and also sometimes they get spoiled feeding bloodworms. I use to give mine some as a treat but I heard its not really good for them . Are they all acting normal. Also smell the food it should have a fishy smell if not it could be off . Hope this helps Pat

I only feed once a day, and I occasionally forget as well.
It's probably a good idea to rotate food.

Also, did you get a big container of Gold.. if it's not as fresh as new, the fish might not be as excited about it. I think fish use smell a lot to locate food, and older food starts to become a bit stale, fish don't like it as much.

I buy food in bulk.. I buy 5 lbs of flake, 5lbs of spirolina pellets and 5 lbs of brine shrimp pellets at a time. But I only pull out about a one month supply and freeze the rest in sealed zip lock bags to maintain freshness.

Yea, I've got a big bag of it but it's fairly new (maybe month old) I also have some Aqueon Cichlid pellets, they are eating those. I'm going to pick up something different tonight and slow down on the feedings. Probably a good idea anyway for water quality reasons alone.
