My 9" N. polystigma stopped eating all of the sudden. He usually eats everything I put in the tank. He is the only fish that stopped eating. Only thing that has changed in the tank is my 9" male N. Venustus has become pretty "interested" in the female venustus and has become aggressive towards every fish in the tank. Befor this, the polystigma was the dominant fish in the tank. Not any more. Do you think that it could be stress that stopped him from eating? I've tried everything from flakes, pellets, bloodworms, crickets even guppies. He doesn't go after any of it. Any help would be great. Thanks

I know this sounds silly, but are you sure it's not a holding female....but most likely the stress is probably affecting it

Definately not a female. He has bred with my female polystigma in the past.

So much for that theory ;)

Any signs of internal parasites?

Yeah when he was eating, I didn't notice anything strange with his poo. I always feed a varied diet like I listed before. I never use feeders but I did try once to see if I could trigger a feeding responce. Every other fish chowed down but he paid no mind.

white stringy feces, along with sunken belly and mouthing but spitting food are common symptoms
