Fish stuck in overflow

Anyone have a trick to get a fish out of the overflow without taking the tank/overflow apart? It got swept in as a fry and is now an adult. I assume he feeds when stray food makes it into the overflow.

A small hook & catch him gently or take out the overflow & let him sure to the sump

Yeah, I was thinking about fishing him out with hook and line. I cant even get a net down there. Too tight.

I never heard of this being done, but it's an idea. During your next water change close the overflow valve. When filling the tank stick a pipe or hose at the bottom of the overflow and try to flood him out.

wow it took along time to discover him don't you regularly look or check your overflows?

If the fish is small enough to fit down your drain just pull the standpipe and let gravity do its job.

I've had that happen before. Just reached my hand down there and grabbed him.
