State of chaos
I got back from vacation a few days ago, and my Belly Crawler Pike looks a bit odd. His midsection, second dorsal fin, and the area around the black stripe down his tail are all bright rosy red. There are no abrasions or injuries, and he's fat and active and eating as aggressively as ever. The rest of him is as dark and healthy-looking as ever, too. What gives...? Do Belly Crawlers turn red at certain times? I have had him over a year and have never seen this. I think I'll do a water change after school tomorrow just to be sure.

If this would be more appropriate in the Crenicichla forum, mods, please feel free to move it.

PS, unfortunately, getting a picture is impossible... he's too quick and the tank is in the bottom of the stand that my Skink's tank is on, so it's always too dark to get a picture. He never stays still anyway and the tank has a ton of plants and driftwood. :/

Wow. This is like one of those moments in a cartoon when a so-called male dog goes into labor and has puppies. thanks guys, glad... she... is okay. Wonder why the color sprung up so suddenly though, the one week I was away, after I have had her well over a year and a half...
