Fish suggestion for planted 25g

Have a 25g low tech planted, with 5 different types of snails, zebra nerite, assassin, mts, and two unknown. Only two fish, a 4" yellowtail spiny eel, and a Burmese algae eater. I'm looking for a fish that will either a ) keep snail and/or hydra populations down, or b) Will spawn and the fry are relatively in demand. PH is usually 7.5-8, and rather alkaline water. I've considered pea puffers, cockatoo apistos, dickfeldi, and have tried rams which spawned but the eggs never hatched, probably due to high ph.

Can you clarify what low-tech means? I'm thinking it has just plants, one air stone and no filter.

Well no co2 and crappy sand substrate. It's actually filtered by an ac110.. Lighting is t5HO. Heater of course... I'll get a pic.

This might help. I think you want to get rid of the hydra before you get fry, since the hydra are likely to predate on the fry. There are some nice looking fish here that might match your tank size, pH and are easy to spawn. (Not sure if they also eat the hydra. That would be the trifecta!)

Think I'm going to give pea puffers a shot. Surprisingly enough I think one of the mystery snails is zebra nerite babies, there's eggs all over the tank, but I thought they needed limestone/salt?
