I have a juvenile umbee thats approx. 1.5 in long with a split in the tail that goes all the way down to the base. Will this heal. I have the fish a week now and no sign of it healing.

i dont think it will if its that far down

Will this heal.
Yes it should. I've seen lots of tail splits over the years all of which have healed. It may just take a bit longer then normal. ;)

EDIT: In my experience you wont see signs of healing in as short of a time span as a week. It normally takes a month or longer (if its a bad split) before it'll fully heal.

My female Doviis tail was split to the base about 5-6 months ago when she was around an inch.....now she is 4" maybe a little longer and it is still the same. I am assuming when it goes to the base it might not heal back.....I'm sure some might and some won't though. Time will tell
