I went clubbing in Canada last night. The club we went to had a pretty big tank (not sure about the gallons, I'm kind of new to this and can't really tell just by looking). There was a silver Arowana in there and a few other large fish (some type of cichlid I think?). Anyway, I was pretty tanked and got SUPER excited about seeing an Arowana in real life. I spent more time standing in front of the tank and "talking " to the Arowana than I did actually dancing. My friend snapped this from behind me, lol.

I kind of feel bad for the Arowana though, and the other fish. Isn't that tank too small looking? Also, could it be stressed from all the people, loud music, and strobe lights?

Cichlid in the back looks like a jag cichlid.

Where in Canada did you go clubbing? That looks like a tank one of the clubs in down town Montreal has.

Hard to tell but the tank looks like a 150g approx which is small for a silver arowana. And +1 to the cichlid looks like a jack dempsey.

Arowana sometimes spook easy, so a night club wouldnt be ideal, but if it was raised in that environment, they would become pretty used to it. If it were my club and tank and put a big mean cichlid in it that loves attention

The picture doesn't show it but there were multiple Cichlid-like fish in the tank. My friend says the Arowana has been there for awhile, possibly about four - five years or so. I'm surprised he isn't bigger.

Sounds like the arowana could be stunted because at that age he should be close to 3' and much bigger all over. Ofcourse its hard to tell the size of that aro with some blonde distraction in the way ;) but it doesnt look much over 18". One good thing I can say is I think I see an eheim filter intake so maybe the owner knows what they are doing haha

Ahh ok. Thats on the west coast opposite to me lol.

Lol New Brunswick is on the east coast right bordering you !! You fail geography :p.

In a club flashing lights may make it cool :p. Jk. It looks a little small but you can't save them all especially how cheap and easy they are to find but it looks like a 6ft tank and I'm surprised you only saw a silver in Canada as there are Manu Asians

LOL, next time I go I'll try to take a clear shot of the entire tank ;). He is pretty small for an Arowana, though. At least in my opinion, but I'm no arowana expert :P

Dont get me wrong I wasnt complaining. Sure it made it a bit challenging to judge size but thats a comprise im willing to make lol. Now if only you could have incorporated a supercar into the pic... would have been the ultimate work distraction. 2/3 isnt bad at all though. Well done
