I have an 180 gallon tank. I haven't been cleaning it for 3 months. I have 7 shubunkin in the tank. I just check the ammonia 0, nitrate 5.0, nitrate 0. Usually when I do my usually water change it has the same reading. I don't know of its cause I have alot of anubias nana. Is it necessary to clean my tank than?

It’s always necessary to clean a tank. Frequency goes up or down depending on sticking, feeding, filtration, plants etc.
liquid water tests will be more accurate than the dip stick ones.
If you’ve got 7 fish and you’ve gone 3 months without cleaning, I’d say you should clean the substrate or filters sooner than later. Otherwise you’ve got a ticking time bomb on your hands.

Plants help a ton... I had my Jack Dempsey in a 65 gallon grow out with tons of plants... I went the longest 1 month without cleaning just to see how the tank reacted and I'm sure the water was fine, my reading were also good... but why not clean it anyways... nothing better for your water freinds than fresh clean water
