Has anyone ever had humidity issues in their homes from fish tanks and water evaporation? I wouldn't say that my tanks are evaporating abnormal amounts of water, but there's a couple spots in my house where there is some fair amount of condensation on the ceiling and mold may becoming and issue. The humidity is only about 32% as of this afternoon. All I have for tanks in my home are a 125gal, a 6gal, and a 29 gallon in our whole 2 bedroom ranch home. Our land lord is recommending we run a dehumidifier.... Which is odd cause it is super dry outside in the winter time. Thoughts???

That doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the tanks if your air is dry. It sounds like the home is getting condensation either in the ceiling or walls.

I have seen windows that sweat and then the water runs down into the wall.

Also, wrongly installed exhaust fan in the bathroom... does it vent outside or just into the attic? It should always vent outside.

If not one of these things, then something else is generating moisture behind the walls and ceilings. (possiblities= sweating pipes, leaking roof, exhaust fans, condensation from extreme temperature differences)

These are all cold weather symptoms- except the leak

Your landlord is probably aware of these issues but would love a willing scapegoat in a fishkeeper.

I was worried with my old 500g in the basement(already a bit humid) and I didnt have a covered sump or tank and never had an issue. If your ceiling is dripping, you have other problems as previously stated

I'd be thinking you are missing or have some mis-installed insulation in those spots.
short term - putting fans blowing on those spots should raise your humidity and evaporate the water.
I'd be going up there to take a look though.
