I got my 120 complete with fish, food, stand, light, glass top for $400. I added the CKs, cichlids, Plecos and Aro. Got it on Ebay and drove 4 hours to pick it up. Just find someone selling a slightly used tank and you can get it cheap.

My LFS quotes $229 for one, no stands, tank only. I got lucky this weekend and snagged a 150 w/stand for 150. Ebay is good if you live near bigger cities, generally they're cheap, but people won't pay to ship, if you're willing to drive, that's a good way to go, or craiglist.

I would avoid chain supermarket stores unless they have sales, they just seem higher in price , I've done a lot of searching. Local paper is good, even post a want ad and offer a buck a gallon, somewhere someone has what you want sitting in the garage collecting dust. Hang up ads at local pet and feed dealers. There's an entire different group of people that have more or larger animals that use feed stores, but they're still animal lovers, their animals are just bigger.

Last year at this time my Aro was growing out and I got a bigger tank but had to 4x4 it to my house in the winter and the cold cracked it. So My fish jumped and killed himself ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so now I'm trying again. Too bad, that last Aro rocked.

A guy that works in the office next to me just gave me a 120./

In Hawaii prices are going to be much higher than around here. Even your used tanks are going to run more.

Good catch, I missed where you were from in my first answer. WyldFya has a really, really good point. You're limited to what's on the island or your probably going to pay. I'd say I'd feel bed for you, but DUDE! you live in Hawaii, that trumps all! Again, best of luck to you.

YEA..... tanks r super expensive here people try to sell like used 125 gal with hood for $400+ or the cheap ones r all bust up

Build one yourself. Where you at, Oahu? Home Depot is there...as well as all the things you need to do it. Make yourself a nice 300 gallon...

Craigs list.com In case your not familiar with it (assuming its available in your area) its an online want adds. I bought my 180 gallon, with a designer stand, well, to save time, it had everything. I mean it was set up with fish and I got those too. The main fish he had was a 12 red devil. The most beautiful red devil I've seen. I did have to get rid of it as it didn't fit in with my plans to get an arowana. The whole thing $300.

I paid $125 for my 125, tank only.
