Hey guys, I just finished building my first fish tank stand for my new 75 gallon tank. It came out great and Im extremely proud of it. However, the floors in my house are whacky. I keep reading about tanks breaking if they arent perfectly level. Is this true. The tank filled is about 3/8 of an inch off on the left side. The left side being the lower side. Front to back is not a problem. If this is a problem, how to I go about "shimming" the stand without causing more problems?
P.S. I emptied the tank as soon as I say it wasnt level. 1/4" off or lower I wouldnt worry about but I think this is tooo much. Thanks in advance.

You can buy a bundle of shims from any hardware store for a few bucks. Slide them under and use a level to get it right. Use a utility knife to score the shims and break off the excess once you get it where you want. That's how you level windows and doors while installing so I would assume it would work under a tank stand. The weight of the tank might cause the shims to compress slightly, something to think about.

my floors are off too when i set up my 150 (everyone will make fun of me for this BUT....) i used cardboard to shim the low side off.. mine was about 1/4inch off and i got it pretty level. i dunno if that would fill your gap but you can give it a try? keep in mind that the cardboard will smash down a little you might have to stack 2 or something
