Hey y'all,

I'm going to be building a entertainment stand for my 40G breeder. It is going to be based off of this idea but with the tank hood being hidden from view. I have already have the plans all out so I will start the project this weekend. Pics to come.

Here is where I need your help. I am trying to figure out what I want to stock it with. Since it will be the center point of the room I want some good colorful and active fish. A part piscivore so that I could rarely have a good live feeding would be a bonus. As well. I'll be sure to upload plenty of pics to this but I appreciate any input on the stocking.

Update:

Had a crack in my other 40 breeder and didn't want to risk it so that set me back about a week. Today I laid the base frame down for the tank to sit on as well as filled it and starting cycling the tank.

I wanted to have the tank on the base before finishing the rest purely because I centered it perfectly with my tv and didn't want the construction of the rest of it to move it all over the place.

Ps: sorry for the cloudy pic the sand is still settling. I should have most of it done tomorrow and will stock it in about 2 weeks as soon as it is cycled and tested with rosyies or guppies.

For stock I'm thinking of the following:

2 dwarf pike cichlids
2 convicts
4 corys
If everyone is getting along then possibly 2 pictus as well. Tbd

Thoughts on the stocking?

I was kind of torn between convicts or a group of tiger barbs for color and activeness but decided on the convicts instead.
