Milky Way Galaxy,
Hey guys I i started a small 15gal , and was just going to do 2 percula clowns,a gobby, zenya, mushrooms, and polyps. Sorry for any wrong spelling . Am not trying to do anything major as you can see just very simple corals. Tank is cycled with a 50gal rated protein skimmer(overkill I hope?) , 5 gal sump with live rock, in tank live rock 10lbs+, live sand. Just wondering at the same time if I could first add the percs and the polyps? And maybe even the zenya at then same time? Or would the zenya be to much added at once? and then later on the others. Tank is cycled (fishless cycle). Thanks

I think fish first then gradually upgrade to corals. This is your your filter will develop more beneficial bacteria based on the amounts of waste each fish produce and amounts of average feeding. You wouldn't want a tank to crash when you have lots of corals lol.
Thats the way I'm doing it... Soon more experienced reef keepers will chime in

okay sweet, i was going to feel better to do fish first. but i thought mushrooms, polups, and zenyas where almost indusctructable hahahahah cause they have australin polys right now and they sell realllyyy quick i really like them, but it wouldnt be safe to add them at the same time?

you caaaaan add them at the same time, but it's safer not to, BUT if you watch your system closely enough, and can do emergency water changes to keep parms good, hardy corals should be ok... but no guarentee.

Hey I cant really answer those questions because I'm a newb at reef keeping. What I can tell you that zoas or at least my unknown zoas (Dont know the name) has gone through hell and back...is hell ok to say on these forums lol dk? This coral has been through nitrates when tested were blood red, light fixture problems, I havent been adding chemicals of any kind...and lots more lol. Now since I got 2 more corals I will develop a routine of dosage of chemicals....

Last But Not Least...I heard mushrooms do real well and multiply quickly under the right conditions

I've heard arguments for both - coral 1st to aviod damage from clumsy fish or fish first to get matured bio-colonies prior to corals. Choice is really yours I don't think theres a right or wrong answer.

I will always completely stock fish, get everything stable as a rock, and then start adding corals.

Everything sounds good from here man.

okay well am going to go get snails today and then Saturday get my 2 percs, and 1 hawk fish. then after a week add my corals. trying to keep the stock really light. But if i keep it this light will my protein skimmer even pick up anything?!?
