Getting more back from taxman, so I'm going to upgrade the size of my new tank from 125g to 180g US (will be here in May). 6ftx2ftx26". What I need is recommendations to "balance out" the fish I've been planning this for.
Fish at present:
6" Green Severum
5" Paratilapia Polleni
3.5" JD (female)
7" Black Ghost Knife
This is a sort of random group, although the Polleni is the only non-SA. He will be the closest to smashing into the tank walls, as he darts and bashes the hoods already. Fully grown, he may top out at 14".
I don"t want alot of fish in the tank, but I'm thinking that some Silver Dollars for dithers, and a couple more big guys could round out the visual--e.g., another Sev, perhaps. Polleni are very conspecific-aggressive, and I don't want a mating pair of JD's getting all territorial. I would appreciate any advice, since this is my big big big project, and my house won't hold any more big tanks.
Oh, and a hard-headed friend of mine has a Clown Knife that's 10" now in a 55g--I told him not to buy it, as he thought the 55g would do for it's life. I know from all I've been learning that they need at LEAST 220g, but he thinks my tank will be his solution. Please advise, as I don't want to take on such a beautiful monster and then have to give it away, when he should be able to find a good home with big tank in this region!!! If he sees it here, it'll help my cause. Durn, ya'll men can be hard-headed!!!!
Thanks!!!
