Fish to put with silver aro??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ive had angels, bristle nose plecos, and guppies with my arow since it was 4-5 inches long.. maybe even less..

they live great together and there is no aggression what so ever.. except during feeding the arow will occasionally chase the angels away from a pellet..

Just stay away from most cichlids, they seem to love biting the eyes out of Arrows, but catfish are good, any of the bigger gouramis, angelfish, redtailed and rainbow sharks(for awhile) polys, plecos. Pretty much anything to big to be eaten and anything not aggressive enough to pick on the Arrowana. Some cichlids are good like the geophagus, and sometimes Oscars, but they can turn to a nuisance on you.

My 5" aro has 3 juvi JD's as tank mates, they get a long nice (for now anyway). The JD's tend to try and steal the aro pellets so I drop their flakes first to distract them then throw my aro some pellets haha. It's a chore but it works.

And he didn't eat the guppies ???? is it vegeterian ???
man, if i put my aro 8" with sime guppies, after a couple of hours no more guppies will left. And myaro eats pellets a lot

to soccerdude, in this size, better keep him alone for now, untill he grows to 6" 7". and of course, don't put fishes that can eat the aro in this small size.

lol ya.. its because ive had him with guppies since he was 2 inches.. so basicly once the egg sac was gone i put guppies in with him. i wanted to make a friendly arowana so i did :D only eats pellets and doesn't fight with anything..

i also had week old plecos with him since he was a baby

Atm I have 1 13" Silver Aro with 2 Oscars , 3 Sevrums, 7 Silver Dollars, 1 Pacu and a a Ripsaw cat. The oscars are the ones that get picked on now by the Arowana. Its only a matter of time before those guppies are a snack for your arowana. Down the road I dont see any of the current tanks you have on your sig list that will accommodate a Silver Arowana let alone 2. you need to get a tank thats at least double your 125.
