Was wondering if anyone knew where to get those fake fish that will float halfway up the tank. My big cichlids need some friends to play with, well ones they wont kill right away. I have looked everywhere online but theres nothing. Figured someone here would know what I was talking about. Thanks

Ping Pong balls arent that bad of an idea. I just wanted to find one of those fish you see occasionally in peoples tanks. Hope someone knows.

i know what ur talking about i think petsmart had them once.

put a ping pong ball on some fishing line and attach it to a rock or a piece of wood. this will keep the ball in the middle of the tank

I had a glow in the dark bobber that my Tex seemed to like I had it weighed down half way on fishing line with a little no fishing sign attached above it with fishing line, but it seemed like a bad idea with his size because he always hit when swimming fast and got scared he would rip a fin off on the line. I could be wrong but better safe than sorry. Its now in my daughters breeder tank. It looks good I think though.

my O's love to play with algae wafers. It's really funny to watch them try to fit in their mouth vertically. It's like a penny stuck in a very small vending machine.

I've tried ping pong balls and bobbers... my fish usually check them out but they don't hold the fish's attention...

I've also used those plastic eggs that silly putty comes in... poked a few holes in it and put frozen food in it... As the fish aggitates the egg, tiny bits of frozen food comes out. Usually not enough to bother eating, but the fish tastes the food and gets eager...

I picked up a motorized squid about 8" long... dropped it in my 300 gal 6' round Rubbermaid... it cruized around the perimeter of the tank for a few laps until it got stuck on decor... all the fish hid while this was happening... I only did it a couple of times.
