Has anyone ever trapped a fish to remove it from their tank?

I have a couple Polys in my 450 that are just too small. I'm concerned they may be lunch one day. I don't like catching fish with nets or otherwise "dorking around" in the tank and freaking out my Aro. I've had a couple Bala's kill them selves just moving some drift wood. My Black has this type of personality, it gets real skidish when lights are moved, nets are in the tank, scapping and so on, so I just don't do it anymore.

I want to drop some kind of box in the tank and let it sink to the bottom with some massivors in it and catch my polys. Then slowley lift the box out of the water with out the polys getting out. Very low freak out potential.

Any thoughts?

my personaul suggestion to do some thing like this with polys sence they like caves would be to as follows. I dont know there size so you will have to use your own judment on that but just for example take 4 inch pvc like 20 inches with 2 inch cap put them in the tank with raw shrimp in them when the poly goes in it all the way for the food cover the ends and just live the pvc tubing out. it they are big do the same thing but with 6 inch pvc tubing 2 feet long with 4 inch end caps. Hope that makes sence. Only reason i thought of this is because thats what i have in my tank for my delhezi. Seems to be a simply easy way to me hope that helps. And good luck
