Fish Tubes

female. that's my guess, anyway. if you're noticing it, she's probably a female.

that's what I was thinking. I usually only notice it just before and after mine lays eggs.
 
It could be either, males tubes will protrude also, especially when they glutton themselves on food. Generally the females tube will be thicker and straight.
While the males will be slightly curved and more slender.
 
both m and f have breeding tubes. But like shadow said, the female breeding tube is thicker and juts out more. Plus, the female is normally the one with the swollen belly
 
The vent area (sorry no pic) looks like a hole and the tube is right behind it. Not sure if that helps.

My Midavil's dorsal and anal fins seem to flowing back towards the tail now, similar to a male convict (and similar to my male convict).

Would either of these be an indicator for the sex of my fish?
