Hi again,

As some of you may know i've recently just purchased two channa asiaticas. The most recent one i bought is about 8 to 9 inches. i think .Anyways i woke up today and was looking at my fish when i noticed a red lump behind its pectoral fin that wasn't there yesterday. I keep looking and notice there is another one behind the other pectoral fin. I think it kinda looks like a tumour growing or something. Can anyone confirm this. Some of you may remember i posted a question about fish pimple here. The pics were ewurm quality so you couldn't really see anything but the 'pimple' looks like the ones here as well but not as big and are round. Here are some pics...

Nobody? Well one of them popped and some white stuff came out. I netted the fish out and aplied some melafix directly onto the open wound. Hopefully that will help. Anyways anyone still have no idea whats going on? Guppy? PLEASE? Anyways here are a couple pics of the open wound...

thanks for the reply. but i dont think its a tumour anymoe. I think its some kinda bacterial infection but i'm not 100% sure. As you can see one of them popped and bled a bit. Anyone else have any idea...

I have a mayan with something that looks similar. There were two at the base of the tail. I used quick cure and they popped and are now almost gone. It took about a week before they popped and another 3-4 days to heal up.

its been about a week now.. They're still there. What company is quick cure by? Its affecting my snakeheads swimming. Well i notice he doesn't really use his pectoral fins. just barely moving them compared to the other snakehead in there who doesn't have those lumps...

I am thinking it is not a tumor but instead either a nematode cyst (there would be a small coiled worm inside) or furunculosis ( a bacterial infection), There are also protozoal infections that make a swelling like that. It would be best to put it in a quarantine tank. Quick-cure is made by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals.
Quick-cure should take care of it if it is protozoal or nematodes but might not work if it is bacterial, Maracyn plus or binox should work for those. After trying the quick-cure wait at least 3-4 days before trying any other med.

i cant remember where i read it but it looks almost like that and theyd removed it. surgically.

i maybe wrong if its a tumour.
