I have been offered a pair of 5inch red tiger motos and a pair of 5 inch festae for my pair of 10-12inch festae.. Would you guys do this? what do you think the value of each pair is?

No way....You can get those for 5 bucks at that size...A pair of adults can easily fetch 100....

Is he offering you a breeding pair of both? They usually cost more. I would do it if I really want a pair of RTM and if it's hard to get them at your area. A younger pair of festae would be cool too but the only thing is that it takes a long time to grow them so that's the downside to that.

Value

5" RTM breeding pair - $40-$50
5" Festae breeding pair - $40-60

Your 10-12" festae - $ 150.00 - $ 200.00

Don't worry about the value, just do what you want to do. I find this hobby much less enjoyable when I try to sell fish high and buy low. Get what you want.

exactly what I was thinking. If I had room to keep them, I'd rather have both pair. I also enjoy growing fish out from juvies to adults.

I'd trade them. but I'm not in the hobby for profit, either.

yea im not too worried about profit either, but i dont want to get screwed either if i can sell my fish for 200 and buy the two pairs for 100 then i will probably just try to sell my pair

Sounds logical to me :)

profit-wise the small festea pair will eventually grow to be the size of the pair you have now and by then you will have a big pair of rtm. so if you get the two pairs, in 3 years they will be worth twice as much as just one big pair of festea. But do what you want it is totally your decision. what you want is key cause even thought they are theoretically worth a lot, are you going to even sell them. so cost means nothing unless your intentions are selling in the future.
