I have a large male short body red isletas. This is from Rapps own collection. I bought him to breed but I don't see it happening and I believe the fish needs a better setting than what I have for him. He's very skiddish when the lights are on. Very pretty fish and very healthy. I may start over and try breeding something but am gonna start with juvies. Wife won't allow it unless I sell this guy for a decent price. I payed over $100 for him but am wondering what I can get out of him if I decide to sell. It really sucks because I planned on keep just this pair and having nothing else and it isn't working out and not sure it will get better.

This pic is from rapps as I have not been able to get a good pic of him as he just hides from me.

Have you tried dithers or target fish?
Sometimes a pair need a spoiler to bring them together.
By putting a divider in the tank, with the pair on 1 side and some other cichlid on the other can do amazing things. Even something as simple as a male convict, can totally change the dynamic.

I don't have them divided but I have 3 or 4 small cichlids in with the pair
