  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Usually they are full of **** and there is no fish vet school, just some guy that worked in a pet store for a few years decided to make more money. You will find many people on this forum will know more then the guy, I am sure of it. Ask and someone might help you out with the problem.

there is a couple of guy here that belong to the koi club
that if a fish is sick they give it a shot of..... i think it's penicillin?
:screwy:

Vets all have the same degree a dvm or a dmv which means they went to an ivy league school.
there are a few who have a special interest in fish
Dr. Stephen smith down at virginia tech goes all over the country.
I think they also have a residency program in aquatic medicine now.
My friend at Banfield did a tumor removal on a gold fish!
I really would only try injecting the larger fish and that would be after several phone calls
and an experienced hobbbiest holding

Dr. O'Brian is a vet... can you tell?

She's right thouhg. I think vets get a 30 minute quicky on fish in their many years of Ivy schooling. I would feel more confortable treating a fish myself then I would with most vets.... I have opened doors that allow me to get certain drugs no accecable to the public though. You might have noticed a few drugs dissapear from the market,... some of these are due to people useing them as narcatics. I've also heard of humans takeing fish meds as they are cheaper. I wouldn't advise any of this unless you know what your doing. I'm ok with you killing yourself just don't make the drugs illegal for us fish enthusiasts
