Has anyone ever heard or seen this TV series on Nat Geo wild? I don't have cable so I catch up with what I can when I visit friends and family. I know of monster fish and river monsters but I've never seen or heard of this show.

The host is kind of funny. At times I really think he has had way too much caffeine. I find it weird he kisses the fish when he releases them.

The host is this european nutjob. I like him better than Jeremy Wade though. Way less suspense and stupid side stories and drama than River Monsters. Just straight forward hook setting. Pretty cool.

Today was the first time I've seen it. It was the episode that he's fishing for Nile perch. I guess Nat Geo is giving animal planet a run for their money with both monster fish and fish warrior.

That's true. I liked the show also and wish I could have seen more episodes.

Jeremy Wade is pretty great in my opinion. Addressing the side stories, its all part of the lore and legend of the people whom actually believe in the legends. I think it adds an element that brings you into the culture a little more.

The thing about Jeremy Wade is he makes the side story interesting. Even with the talk of ppl dying and disappearing. You guys got to remember the people he talks on his show often live in remote jungles. So there's is always the legends that the local people speak of.
