What are you looking for in the SGV? There is a place that sell fish at decent price in ghetto El Monte.
If you're buying a glass tank go talk to Chris(Jeboxfiddy). He's pretty cool to do business with.
im looking for a place that sells fish way cheaper than your lfs in quantities like this website. http://www.cichlidlovers.com/list.htm somewhere in the the SGV
As for as wholesale there is one in Northridge and another one in El Monte called Kokaho. Call for their hours before you go because they have weird hours and sometimes is only open for 4 hours on certain days.
I dont think you will need a permit, if you plan on just buying the fish and keeping them. When I called a wholesale distributor near me, he said he would have sold to me if he didn't have businesses who he supplied to located close by.popcorn1;1523089; said:

Firstly, Global Aquatics is a weekly stop for me, but by NO means are they a wholesaler. They don't have very good pricing. Although the puppies make it worth going.

Go here, http://www.rockymountaincichlids.com/tanganyika_prices.htm, for good pricing. Granted, they are not close by any means, but they have better pricing than anything local. A big enough order would offset shipping costs.
