First: Hi!
I just registered. I'm Tom, from Holland.

I came across a green sunfish and brought it. They are kinda rare her, I never saw one before. The fish wasn't scared at all and observed everything from the fish tank. A couple of days ago I was working on the fish tank, left the cover open and it jumped out. It must have lain on the floor for half an hour, its skin felt a little dry. I started moving him through the water so there would come oxygen in its gills.

I'm glad to say that its wounds are all healed even the damage to its eyes. He is eating, but now he became very scared. He's hiding all the time and swims away when he sees me.

Is there anyone who had this with his fish? Do you know if he will be tame again or can a fish have a trauma?

although i have no experience with this fish, can i suggest that you cover the top of your tank as soon as possible... since i'm sure you wouldn't want to have this happening again...

He is just stressed, he will eventually trust you again. I had that happen with a clown loach in a decoration while I was cleaning the tank. He was in a decoration, he was fine after but skittish. Eventually he came out of it.

Yeah, that he didn't hide to begin with was a little surprising. Eventually he'll associate you with food, and from there it's smooth sailing.
