fish with turtles

ive seen fly river turtles in with fish so i was wondering what other turtles mix well with larger fish was thinking of puting one in my oscar tank.
it is 6fx2fx2f with a 4f sump filter apart from the oscar their is
1 climbing perch
1 marble sleeper goby
1ornate brichir
2 comon plecs

Pretty much every other turtle available in the pet trade will kill or damage your fish, except for the FRT. What can you expect, they are adapted to eat fish as part of their natural diet.

What you have is a fish tank. It would need a lot of changes to make it a turtle tank. I'm not just talking about some new lights and a rock above the water. The substrate would have to go, or be replaced with large pebbles. Any live plants in the tank would be destroyed. You'd be adding a heck of a lot to the waste load aswell.

Don't do it, if you want a turtle, set up another tank. The general rule is:
Turtles+fish=fed turtle.

Even FRTs will go after fish sometimes, especially if they are smaller fish.

If you are going to mix fish with turtles, it better be a fish shoal you don't really fancy.

i have a soft shell in with
3 bleheri
1 pike cichlid (orange)
1 tulip eel
all get on fine and have been for about 4 weeks.I think that could change if i was to miss a feed

thanks for your concern oddball. I know they like fish but he is still quite small at the moment and no threat (yet) and i will move him when he gets a bit bigger

at the moment i am feeding him crickets,beetles, snails,worms,giant mealworms ,whitebait, and frozen turtle food, and the occasional feeder,,oh yes and cockles

i guess ill have to wait till i can aford a FRT

althought the thought of a turtle set up is running though my head can different turtles mix
