Fish yawn?

Now and then my JD "yawn" ...he unlocks his jaw and stretches it as big as he can...he is solo tho, so I don't think hes attempting to show off to anyone, unless hes trying to scare me away :nilly::nilly:

How ever I just watched a comet do it. Whats this action called? I assume its just a thing they do from time to time?
 
Many people call it a yawn. Don't think there's a scientific term for it. But most fish do it from time to time, to stretch I guess.

Maybe they're just sleepy. ;)
 
I've seen my jd do it a few times as well.
 
Iv seen my black arowana do it Lol

He opens his mouth wide and big.
