Fishfarm Trimac Thread

Picked up 6 F1 Trimacs from Ken to grow out. I'll try to update this thread every month or two to show their progress. They range from 3/4" - 1" and I'll be keeping the nicest male. Here we go...

Growout tank:

Total growouts in the tank (72g) are 6 x Trimacs, 2 Carpinits, 2 Yellowheads.

Should be fun watching them all grow. Don't worry, I have several 10g and 20g tanks to put them in when they get bigger..
















Just kidding ...I have a 150g (to be set up), 2 x 75g and a 55g (both up and running) to move them around in case problems arise before I sell the ones I'm not keeping.

Sorry for taking too long to reply but I've had some bad luck. Besides my camera dying on me so I can't take pics, something must have gotten in my water which killed all of them but one. Not sure if I had something on my hands and forgot to wash them before cleaning the tank that night or what. Woke up the next morning to a horrible site. The lone survivor was the largest of the group and needed some serious TLC to make it. He's around 3" now and in a 55g with some Neon tetras that he wont even bother with. Sure doesn't seem like the same dominant Trimac he was before the ordeal. I'll get some pics when I get a chance. Wish my update would have been a lot better.

Sorry to hear that - is the survivor a male or a female? I hope its doing OK now.
